FedEx to close 7 U.S. service centers in 2024

"As the less-than-truckload industry evolves, we will continue to adapt our freight network to meet forecasted demand and adjust to the changing needs of our business, and we expect to close seven service centers across the U.S. this year," a FedEx spokesperson said. FedEx stated that the seven closed facilities accounted for approximately 1% of the total number of FedEx freight doors, but it has not yet given a specific closing date. Some team members will obtain job opportunities at nearby FedEx outlets. The seven service centers scheduled to close are located in: Chicago Ridge, Illinois; London, Kentucky; Kenova, West Virginia; Mount Vernon, Illinois; Wilma, Minnesota; Yuma, Arizona; and Zanesville, Ohio.
